Prioritizing Access to Quality Healthcare for All

Shamim Nalubega is a student at AsOne Nursery and Primary School. She has been a student here since the school first opened in 2022.

She said, “I was very happy when the school opened a hospital. Initially, we had to pay for medical services like everyone else, which was quite hard for my parents, especially since I used to fall sick often. The expenses were becoming overwhelming.”

However, this all changed when AsOne introduced health insurance for students. Now, students are only charged 15,000 shillings ($4 USD) per term to receive full medical treatment at any time. Shamim said, “This new system has been a tremendous relief for my family.”

“With AsOne Health Center so close to my school, life has become much easier. I no longer have to travel long distances to get medical care. Since receiving proper diagnosis and appropriate medication for my illnesses, I don't fall sick as often as I used to.”

These healthcare services provided by AsOne has become both affordable and accessible for students like Shamim. “My parents and I are very grateful to AsOne for offering us quality medical care and making a positive difference in our lives.”
