AsOne Bakery Update

At the AsOne Bakery + Cafe, we've seen tremendous growth and resilience despite the challenging circumstances that have been brought by COVID-19 in Uganda.

Our bakery sales have skyrocketed thanks to the leadership and creative strategies put in place by women like Joan Nabwire.

Your support is providing life-changing education, practical skills, and quality jobs.

Last week, our bakery sold 3,078 units of bread. In comparison, during the same week in June 2019, we sold 766 units of bread. That is a 400% increase in sales in just one year. This is possible because you've empowered women like Joan to be the change in her community.

Meet Joan Nabwire

Meet Joan Nabwire. A single mother of two, a quiet leader, and the Operations Manager of the AsOne Bakery + Cafe. She is a story of transformation — a woman proud to be able to provide for her children. Because of her work, she is able to pay for their tuition, scholastic materials, and meet their needs.

Because of the AsOne culture in Uganda, she expressed, that now "I have learned so much about how to interact with others and live peacefully with all around me. I used to go to church occasionally but this time round I take to church and
prayers seriously. Since working with AsOne, I have grown in my love for Jesus."

"Being a single mother, I can use that to encourage people like me to always stick to their families and take care of their children because they can.
I love the interactions of my job which creates relationships around me. It is a blessing I can't wait to continue grow together with AsOne."
