2022 Immersion Trips

Through Immersion Trips we utilize relational capital to empower one another, honor the image of God in each other, and mutually transform our lives and world through shared experiences. We believe this leads to better conversations, better questions, and deeper convictions about how to partner with God in His Kingdom work around the world.

We invite you to read more about our four 2022 trips this year and the highlights for our 60 travelers to Uganda!

April | Western Christian High School

Our high school friends from California, partnered with the AsOne High School in Namayemba and the Idudi AsOne Nursery and Primary School to host discipleship and sports camps for students during their term break. Highlights included: worship and bible study together, team building activities, and creating art projects together. The theme from this trip from everyone who participated was JOY!

May | Dakota Wesleyan University

This college group immersed themselves into the AsOne model and community to learn more about sustainable development. They also partnered with both of our high school in Namayemba and Crater High School in Rwaynabihuka for arts, sports, community service, and discipleship camps. This group truly took relationship building to heart, and deeply invested their time into learning students’ stories, and encouraging them in all that they do. This trip was a picture of true fellowship.

June | Valor High School

A group of 17 high school students and adults from Valor High School in Colorado jumped full blown into hosting one of our most comprehensive camps ever held at the AsOne High School! This camp included activities for AsOne students to learn through cooking workshops, team building, sports clinics, Bible studies, and sharing each other’s stories. They wrapped up their time together with a celebration that included awards, dancing, and prayer for one another.

July | Annual Kingdom Leadership Conference

19 pastors and leaders from all over the US gathered in Uganda to help the AsOne staff host the annual Kingdom Leadership Conference. We hosted local business, pastoral, and political leaders to discuss and equip attendees on Lasting Leadership through teachings from US and Ugandan speakers. Throughout the three day conference leaders participated in worship, prayer, sharing meals together, and small group discussions in order to learn the power of becoming leaders of integrity that can overcome the trials of leadership for the sake of those they serve. At the end of the conference we heard testimonies from local Ugandans about learning to become better parents, recommitting themselves to the good of others, and creating an inner life with God that transforms the world around them.
